Another Life

Gareth Rhodes

Ask me when did you decide,
It gets to late to change your mind,
You make your bed and then you lye,
Wondering what you left behind,
I can see it in your eyes,
Stirring something deep inside,
I was meant to save your life,
I was meant to be your life

Never loved then never lost,
Hurts but damn well worth the cost,
Never found well how's that work?
Something like an empty hurt?
I watch you try and find someone,
With whom you clearly don't belong,
Don't know why we ever choose,
When all we are is passing through

Smiling for the picture now,
Keeping it all in the house,
If you knew I know you'd cry,
You'd wonder how you'd wonder why,
I can see your lonely life
Love to live a thousand times,
There is too much going on,
In the end we don't get long,

Only in my silent times,
I think that you and I could find,
A way to bridge this gaping hole,
Silence takes a heavy toll,
But then I settle back again,
And know you as a distant friend,
Cos' that the way life wanted it,
And now there's no escaping it.
