Think Before You Speak

The Brasshole Fiasco

Danny Parker lies on the corner with a bullet in his head.
A star in the heavens burns out and becomes dim.
Somehow his murderer got something out of this,
How he did I’ll never know how.

Johnny hides in the bushes with his hands over his mouth.
With a stare he is scared and tries his best not to produce a sound.
Johnny didn’t wanna get caught up in all of this,
But I guess he’s got no choice now.

Should he fight? Should he hide?
Should he run to the cops or keep it all locked up?
Never again will he confront his friend white sheets on his cot water over his head.
Story told to man did he ever hear.
The Danny Parker story, only God knows.

So the cops rolled up to the scene that has become quite a mess.
And they ask Johnny to describe exactly what he has witnessed.
What should Johnny do, should he turn in his best friend?
Johnny’s gotta make a choice now.

Johnny’s lost his faith in God or so the story’s told.
But he’s carried over values from that life he’s lived before.
He still knows the difference between what’s right and wrong.

Should he fight? Should he hide?
Should he run to the cops or keep it all locked up?
Never again will he confront his friend white sheets on his cot water over his head.
Story told to man did he ever hear.
The Danny Parker story, only God knows.

Johnny came to court, but he couldn't lie.
I spoke in my defense, but it wasn’t worth the try.
Now this cell will confine me 'til I'm dead.
Johnny you're still my best... friend
